Who We Are

At Beyond Psychotherapy California PC, we believe that you are the expert about your life. Our approach to therapy is deeply client-centered, honoring your unique experiences, perspectives, and innate wisdom.

We provide affirming care that meets you exactly where you are in your journey, without judgment or predetermined expectations. Our practice is built on the foundation of recognizing and amplifying your existing strengths. We understand that healing and growth emerge from within rather than being imposed from the outside.

We are committed to creating a therapeutic space that is both neuro-affirming and gender-affirming, ensuring that all aspects of your identity are respected, celebrated, and integrated into our work together. Through collaborative partnership, we support you in exploring your own solutions, trusting in your capacity for resilience, and empowering you to create your own story of healing and transformation.

Dr. Alison Dotti, PhD, RSMT

License # PSY34979

Hello, I am Dr. Alison Dotti, a licensed psychologist and somatic therapist that has been working with youth and families in Sonoma County since 2017. I am excited that you are here and I look forward to working with you. In your sessions,  I will meet you exactly where you are, I will be there with you to hold all that you are and have experienced. I will be a witness and support you on your journey through the pain, joy, love, heartbreak, anger, sadness, anxiety, excitement and growth. I will work with you so that you can create the life you want to live. Everyone is an expert on their own life and I am here to help you tap into that knowledge, find inspiration, and live to your fullest potential.

I have a creative approach to therapy, as there is no one-size that fits all. We are all beautifully unique individuals. I utilize creativity, art-based approaches, somatic based modalities, and aspects of CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Therapy, and Trauma Focused approaches. We will work together to tailor an approach that works best for you.

Long before I became a psychotherapist I used visual and performative arts as a method to express and process my thoughts and feelings. My creative journey in my younger years and my deep love of supporting others led me to the field of psychology. My experiences, creativity, and flexible thinking allows me to bring a myriad of tools to your session; I think outside of the box and will draw on your strengths and interests to fully support you. I look forward being a part of your journey.
